Sorry I haven’t been around much…
Just a quick post from me today to say sorry I haven’t been posting much over the last few weeks. It’s been a crazy time that’s for sure. Unfortunately James, my husband, broke his neck in a rugby accident the other week. First things first, he’s ok.. I know how bad a broken neck sounds! Fortunately there won’t be any lasting damage, but he is in a neck brace and unfortunately can’t do an awful lot for himself. It could have been so much worse though, so we are both very thankful.
Due to the fact he must not lean forward of lift anything I have needed to pick up all of the chores around the house/ garden and also look after the baby 24/7. It’s been a big struggle. I have of course done this before when James has been travelling with work, but given this time it is longer and I have to look after him too it has been really tricky. There are just not enough hours in the day! As always I take my hat off to single parents and those who have to care for others.
For me, one of the worst things, aside from the fact James can’t do anything is that he isn’t able to play with or hold Amelia (our 7 month old). I put her on his lap for a cuddle every day, but it’s not the same. I know he feels that he is missing out on lots of fun, as this is certainly one of our favorite times with her. She is now waving, clapping and laughing, so it’s such a shame he can only look on from afar. Amelia seems to quite like the look of Daddy’s brace though and regularly tries to pull on it and bite it… not ideal for James, but pretty funny to watch from my perspective.
Unfortunately James will need to be in the neck brace for another 10 weeks, so there isn’t much let up any time soon, but at least I’m starting to get into the swing of things a little more now. Friends and family have been amazing too offering to help. Hopefully I will be back to writing soon and we can start to get back to some form of normality. As they say, these things are sent to try us and it is certainly doing that!
So yes a little apology from me on being so quiet on the blog (you may see the odd re-post here and there) and also a request too…..If you fancy getting involved in the blog, doing a guest post or a Q&A I would love to hear from you. Contact me over social or email me on email@example.com and let’s chat about working together.
See you soon hopefully….
