Father’s Day gift guide

#advert

Sunday 20th June marks Father’s Day here in the UK. We’ve collated a list of some of the best gifts to buy the man who is (almost) impossible to buy for. Take a look at the below for a little bit of inspiration. With Father’s Day just under two weeks away, there’s still time to get something excellent for the man in your life.

Full disclosure as always; all these gadgets, yummy treats and gizmos were #gifted to us to try out, but rest assured the reviews are all fair and 100% honest.

Mr Perfect Soap and Body Wash Gift Set

The Somerset Toiletry Company have got some great Father’s Day ideas from their Mr Perfect range. We tried their toiletry soap and body wash set, which not only smelled delicious, but felt great on the skin too.

This little gift set includes a luxury soap and hair and body wash, both a perfect travel size. The fresh, masculine scent of Spearmint combined with the sweet, earthy aroma of Patchouli is wonderful and will make any Dad happy.

The set retails at £8.95 and you can pick yours up here.

A personalised Beano book

To celebrate 70 years of Dennis, everyone’s favourite mischief-maker has teamed up with The Book of Everyone to create a personalised book for dads. This is a great little gift for all those dads who grew up with Beano (showing our age now!)

What I love about this one is that there is a choice to personalise each page with quotes or imagery if you want to make it extra special. We added a little dedication too from Amelia. Very cute!

Wise(ish) Words By Dennis is a book that will have dad chuckling from cover to cover. It’s full of great Beano illustrations too all set to Dennis’s Wise(ish) Words on life. After the last year, perhaps Dennis’s spirit is just the respite we all need in our lives.

Prices for the books range from £20.00 and you can order yours here

Coffee lovers gift box

The Brew Company is doing a fantastic slection of Father’s Day gift boxes this year with a fab selection of coffees to try. They also have an Irish coffee gift set too- yummy!

I have talked about The Brew Company before when I tried their Christmas advent calendar – and I have to say I just love this brand. Not only are the flavours amazing, but the whole concept it just really innovative and different too. Each sachet is actually the brew mechanism, i.e. you don’t need a cafetière or coffee machine, you just brew the coffee in the bag. These are going to be perfect for our upcoming camping trip and Daddy James is just going to love the fact that we can have delicious coffee in the wilderness.

In terms of the flavours, well there is something here for everyone, from strong coffees to those that have a hint of something really quite different.

These gourmet coffee gift boxes retail at £18.95 and are just the ticket for something a little bit different for Dad this year. Check them out here.

Liberation premixed cocktail cans

I though these were a fun and inspired gift for Dad (and something for Mum to try our too of course!)

For those looking for something a little bit different, the mixologist grade Liberation Cocktail cansare made with premium quality, natural ingredients, and overproof craft distillery spirits. And the best thing about them? Well in short, they’re not only tasty, but so easy – no need to spend hours mixing cocktails – just give the tin a shake and drink. Simples.

They are available in mixed packs of 6 and 12 or a case of 24 cans and are perfect for al fresco dining or little trips away. Again, these are going to be spot on for our upcoming camping trip whilst we sit under the stars (slashing rain). They come in all kinds of flavours, such as Espresso Martini, Strawberry Daiquiri, Gin Garden, Pisco Sour and Pornstar Martini. Our favourite was definitely the Pisco Sour.

Prices range from £25.20 for 6 x 200ml cans to £97.00 for 24 x 200ml cans. Take a look at their selection here.

FireDragon BBQ Firelighters

Make sure Dad is ready for barbecue and fire-pit season with these FireDragon products. FireDragon is an all-weather eco-friendly lighter fuel and is cleverly made from rotten vegetable matter and UK-sourced ethanol. Not only is that a great use of waste, but it means no trees need be harmed when your start your BBQ (obvs unless you use wood that is!). But you get my gist.

These fire lighting products are said to be chemical-free, eco-friendly and safe to use for food. Plus, they are completely smoke and odour free so they don’t make your BBQ food or smores taste yukky. They either come in cubes or in bottles of gel which means they are fuss and mess free and can be kept away from little fingers.

Prices vary depending on what you are looking for. Check out what they have on offer here.

Caravan Coffee Roasters chocolate bar

If Dad has a sweet tooth, then chocolate may be your go-to gift this year. Isn’t it always?! And this yummy bar from The Caravan Coffee Roasters is a delicious choice.

The coffee company has collaborated with Bullion Chocolate to create a deliciously indulgent 63g single origin Milk Chocolate bar that has been infused with espresso using their own signature Market Blend coffee. Two of our favourite things in one bar.. excellent.

The Market Milk Bar can be enjoyed on its own or with a long black coffee. It’s delicious and ever so smooth.

The bar retails at £7.00 so eat it sparingly and don’t share it with anyone. Take a look at it here.

Explore with Dad on a treasure trail

If it’s an experience gift you want, then consider setting out on a secret spy mission with Treasure Trails this Father’s Day. With over 320 spy mission Trails to choose from across the UK, there is something for everyone here.

These themed self-guided walking trail booklets take you on circular outdoor walking adventures for approximately two miles (take a bag or buggy for little legs). Lasting around two hours, you can all act as special agents, solving clues, incorporating plaques, signs, statues, monuments, images and engravings. Dad really will feel like 007 – at least for a few hours anyway.

We did our trail locally around Faringdon in Oxfordshire, but there are more than 1,200 Treasure Trails to choose from across the UK, with locations varying from cities and towns to villages and rural areas so I’m confident you will find something that suits you locally.

Ordering a Treasure Trail online is easy. Simply choose your local spot, decide on a theme and order the Trail online here, they cost £9.99. You can either download it as a PDF and print it out at home, or get the printed booklet posted to you directly.

Cabana Cooler Pale Ale

James is a lover of pale ale so I knew this one would be a winner. The Cabana Cooler Fruit Tea Pale Ale is a tropical fruits ale that taste flipping awesome. With hints of pineapple and papaya, it’s perfect for cooling down on a sunny day. Now I’m no ale drinker but this is light, fruity and very quaffable.

The Cabana Cooler fruit tea pale has 3.6% alcohol so it’s relatively mild, but ever so refreshing.

The Cabana Cooler Fruit Tea Pale Ale retails at £4.50 for one can or £17.00 for a pack of 4. Find out more here.

HARIBO Starmix

Now who doesn’t have a sweet tooth? These HARIBO Starmix sweets are the perfect gift to give Dad on Father’s Day… and then sneak away to eat without him!

Featuring the same merry mix of iconic pieces that we all know and love, these sweets will keep the whole family quiet for a few hours in front of a movie if you are willing to share.

The Starmix Tube has a RRP of £1. Find them here.

Books to read with Dad

Finally, here are two lovely books to get for Dad to read with the little ones.

My Dad is a gorgeous picture book about the relationship between a boy and his dad. With lyrical text by Susan Quinn, we are introduced to “the best dad in the world!” in a stereotype-smashing, beautiful celebration of fatherhood. You can find it here on Amazon.

And What is Daddy Going to Do? is a fun and colourful board book, perfect for children aged 0-5 who would like to guess what daddy is going to do next. This is a great little read and the kids can open the flaps for a bit of interactive fun. You can find this on Amazon too.
